kleinprint is an art dealership devoted to contemporary art from Central and Eastern Europe. It began with a focus on the graphic arts, particularly the small format print. Small format graphics remain one of our principal foci, but we now show large format prints, drawings, paintings on paper and wood, sculpture, bibliophilic editions (Limited edition hand bound books illustrated with original prints), other printed folios and suites, and, occasionally, photography. We now exhibit work by about 60 different artists.

kleinprint was founded by Henry Klein, M.F.A., the director of the Art Gallery at Los Angeles Valley College and the former director of its Printmaking Laboratory. His is a past President of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society, past Board Member of the American Print Alliance and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts at UCLA. Since 1987, he has been curating exhibitions, writing articles and catalogs, and giving lectures about Contemporary Central and Eastern European Art. In 1990, he curated and wrote the catalogue for the exhibition, "Creativity in the Shadow of Political Oppression," the first exhibition to openly explore the political subtexts of recent artwork produced in the formerly Communist Czechoslovakia.
